Collection: Marique - Woman in the Water Collection
Meet Marique, the Afro-Indigenous firecracker who isn't afraid to shake things up. Marique is an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of North Dakota (The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation). Her traditional name is Woman in the Water. In her day to day life she combines teaching critical Indigenous Studies with law. Marique uses her unique identities and personal experiences to fuel her work and amplify awareness. She's also no stranger to the power of plant medicine and Indigenous storytelling, which she uses as tools for healing and community building. Marique is always willing to teach or answer questions about Indigenous Cultures. Her rule of thumb is “There are no dumb questions”.
